Cashew is often thought of as the fruit of the cashew nut, although it is a pseudofruit. It is made up of two parts: the chestnut which is the fruit itself, and the floral peduncle, pseudofruit confused with the fruit. It is a piriformist, carnosum, yellow, pinkish or red stem.
